Accomplishments Planned and executed mission critical service projects: • Experienced in the planning and execution of off-hour servicing and upgrading of client computer systems and software where serious time constraints have been imposed. • Migrated DOS based accounting systems to new software where no data export capability existed: • Employed various data mining techniques using Vcatch, Monarch and Alpha4 to create the various databases required by a new software’s data import function. Planning and teamwork was also required to prepare and train the client’s staff to properly use the new software. • Obtained necessary data and to maintain a level of expertise to solve software and hardware related problems for new and emerging technologies • Studied what was required whenever faced with new technologies or whenever presented with a new challenge. More recently, all testing of new technologies, software or proposed solutions are accomplished by way of a “vmware” equipped lab computer. This lab PC is also used for many over the phone service calls. Provide assistance establishing a new business: • In the late 80’s, I was approached by a Moncton based business. Because of my experience in the local hospitality industry at the time, I was given a one year employment contract during which I would be responsible for the planning, design and implementation of the front desk, accounting and restaurant systems of a new hotel. Staff training was also provided. The business has since grown to be a well known and respected Atlantic Canada chain of hotels. Designed and implemented web sites : While servicing the needs of an assortment of clients, basic information web sites of various sizes were designed and implemented using tools such as Coolpage, CoolEdit, Netscape Composer etc....
